Madison Boeder is an artist and student at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a minor in Art History. Previously, she studied art education at Chicago State University. Her work has been featured in galleries across the Midwest, including in Milwaukee, Chicago, and beyond.
Boeder’s practice spans multiple mediums, including painting, collage, printmaking, sculpture, and woodworking. Her work explores themes of death, decay, and spiritual transformation, drawing inspiration from Druidry and Paganism to examine the cycles of nature and their parallels with human life. Often incorporating photographs taken during her hikes, she blends personal experiences in nature with visual elements to create evocative, layered compositions.
In addition to her focus on nature and spirituality, Boeder’s art engages with broader social and historical contexts. She interrogates the intersection of art history and contemporary issues, often blending pagan symbols with Catholic imagery to explore themes of cultural transition. Her work also addresses political, social, and pop culture topics, offering both critical reflection and a sense of humor in its commentary.
